Hayik, aged 73, set the record by playing as a goalkeeper for Israeli team Ironi Or Yehuda on Friday, overtaking Uruguay’s Robert Carmona, who held the previous record (53 years). “I’m ready for another game,” Hayik said after the match.
WhatsApp to let users block ‘frequently forwarded’ messages in groups
In order to stop the circulation of fake news, WhatsApp is testing a new feature for groups which will let users block ‘frequently forwarded’ messages. The new setting will be visible only to group admins who can block such messages. WhatsApp’s also working on a ‘forwarding info’ feature to let users determine how many times a message has been forwarded.

A woman employee of HDFC Bank in Rajasthan’s Dholpur has claimed she is facing sexual harassment by her branch manager. “He said this is corporate you have to do this otherwise I will spoil your banking career.. please help me,” the employee tweeted. The employee has also lodged a police complaint, while the bank’s team is looking into the matter.

A video shared on social media shows a couple abusing and assaulting traffic policemen who stopped them for violating traffic rules in Delhi’s Kishangarh area. While the woman attacked a policeman with a bottle and broke the challan machine, the man tore an ASI’s uniform, said traffic personnel. They were arrested for obstruction of duty and misbehaving with the policemen.
Baring PE to buy up to 56% stake in NIIT Technologies for ₹4,890cr
Baring Private Equity Asia and its arms will acquire a 56% stake in NIIT Technologies including an open offer for a 26% shareholding in a ₹4,890-crore deal. NIIT Ltd and other promoter entities will sell entire shareholding of 30.4% in the company for ₹2,627 crore. The transaction is at a premium of 3.3% to NIIT Technologies’ Friday’s BSE closing price.

24-yr-old farmer ends life over crop failure in Maharashtra
A 24-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide at a village in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district, police said on Sunday. Shreejit Vilasrao Hathe allegedly hanged himself to a pole in front of his house, police added. A relative of Hathe said that he owned four acres of agricultural land but his crops were failing every year, because of which he was under stress.

Goa govt extends retirement age of its doctors from 60 to 62
The Goa government on Sunday extended the retirement age for doctors working in its institutions from 60 to 62, a senior official said. “Doctors working in ESI hospitals, Goa Medical College and Hospital, besides various other government institutions, would benefit from the order,” state Labour Commissioner Jayant Tari said. However, the Goa Government Employees Association has opposed the move.
Lupin recalls 12,000 cartons of birth control tablets in US
Drugmaker Lupin is recalling over 12,000 cartons of Fayosim tablets, used to prevent pregnancy, from the US market, as per a report of the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). “Failed impurities/degradation specifications” were stated as the reason behind the recall. The product was manufactured by the company at its Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh.

India evacuates entire peacekeeping contingent amid Libya fighting
India has evacuated its entire peacekeeping contingent comprising 15 CRPF personnel from Libya’s capital Tripoli after the situation there “suddenly worsened”. “There is fighting in Tripoli,” External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said. The Delhi Commission For Women has rescued a three-year-old girl, who was allegedly neglected by her alcoholic father and was found lying in her excreta. Neighbours alleged the father, a rickshaw-puller, would give the girl liquor in her milk bottle when she would cry for food. The child’s mother had died a year ago, the neighbours added.

2-day per week civilian vehicle ban on Jammu-Srinagar highway begins
The two-day per week ban on movement of civilian vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar-Baramulla national highway for facilitating safe passage of security convoys came into effect today. The ban will be in force on Sundays and Wednesdays till May 31. Army, police and CRPF personnel have been deployed at all intersections leading to the highway to ensure that civilian traffic doesn’t interfere.

BJP spokesperson Suresh Nakhua on Saturday filed a criminal complaint against actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
