The previous second highest successful chase in World Cup was also recorded by Bangladesh when they chased down the target of 319 against Scotland in 2015. 14 gold biscuits worth ₹53 lakh seized from plane’s washroom in Pune

Pune Customs seized 14 gold biscuits worth nearly ₹53 lakh from a SpiceJet flight which arrived at the Pune International Airport from Dubai on Sunday. “The gold was recovered during the rummaging of the aircraft from the rear lavatory concealed behind the cavity of the wash basin. All the 14 gold biscuits are of foreign origin,” said the press release.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan named in Bihar children deaths case

A case has been filed against Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey on charges of negligence leading to deaths of 82 children due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in the past fortnight in Muzaffarpur. The petition said that Harsh Vardhan and Mangal Pandey failed to fulfill their duties to control the outbreak of AES.

Denying the reports that he was sleeping during a press conference on children killed by Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in Bihar, MoS Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey said he was “thinking”. Bus crashes as man grabs steering after argument with driver

Twelve people were killed and several others got injured in a traffic accident in Indonesia on Monday after a bus passenger forcefully grabbed the steering wheel of the vehicle following an argument with the driver, police said. The bus driver was killed, according to authorities, while the passenger was severely injured. The bus was heading to Cirebon from Jakarta.

The bank said the company had a credit limit of ₹100 crore, of which ₹67 crore plus interest was due. Israeli firm claims it can unlock any iOS device for police

Israeli company Cellebrite introduced a tool named ‘UFED Premium’ which it claims can allow law enforcement to “unlock and extract data from all iOS and high-end Android devices”. It claims the tool can help gain access to third-party app data, chat conversations and deleted content, among other information. UFED Premium gives support for devices running iOS 7 to iOS 12.3.

Vedanta to complete pilot floating solar plant in 2-3 months

Vedanta has said its group firm Hindustan Zinc plans to complete its first pilot floating solar plant in the next two-three months. The 1 MW solar plant, being developed by Kolkata-based Vikram Solar, is located at Rajasthan’s Ghosunda Dam. The solar plant is expected to have an energy yield of 1,993 MWh a year and power 1,400 houses a year.

Fitch cuts India growth forecast for FY20 from 6.8% to 6.6%

Fitch on Monday lowered India’s economic growth forecast to 6.6% for the current fiscal from 6.8% projected earlier. This comes as the country’s manufacturing and agriculture sectors showed signs of slowing down over the past year. The global rating agency retained its GDP growth forecast for the next financial year at 7.1% and for FY22 at 7.0%.

Pfizer acquires Array BioPharma in $11 billion deal

US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer on Monday announced the acquisition of Array BioPharma, a biotechnology firm that specialises in cancer drugs. Pfizer offered $48 per share in cash for Array, putting an $11.4 billion value on the company. The deal is Pfizer’s biggest since 2016 when it signed a $14-billion deal to buy Medivation, which also specialises in cancer drugs.

JP Nadda named BJP working President, Amit Shah to remain President

JP Nadda was appointed as the working President of the BJP on Monday, while Amit Shah will continue to be BJP National President. Nadda, a Member of Parliament from the Rajya Sabha, served as the Health Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous government. Nadda will take care of the day-to-day operations of the BJP for the next six months.

Sotheby’s goes private after 31 years, bought by Drahi for $3.7 bn American art dealing company Sotheby’s on Monday announced that it has signed a definitive merger agreement to be acquired by French-Israeli billionaire Patrick Drahi in a $3.7 billion cash deal. The deal implies that Sotheby’s would go private, 31 years after its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. Drahi is an art collector and media and telecom entrepreneur.
