Mali Women record lowest ever total in T20I cricket history

Mali Women recorded the lowest ever total in T20I history (both men’s and women’s) after getting all out for 6 runs in 9 overs against Rwanda on Tuesday. Ten of Mali’s players failed to open their account, while their opening batsman top-scored with 1(6). Rwanda chased down the target in four deliveries. The previous lowest total was 14 (China Women).

Mamata, Naidu to skip PM Modi’s meet on ‘one nation, one poll’

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and former Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu will skip the “one nation, one poll” meeting called by PM Narendra Modi with presidents of all political parties on Wednesday. Mamata wrote a letter to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi, claiming it’s difficult to take a call on such a crucial matter on such short notice.

Union Minister’s 26-yr-old son held in attempt to murder case in MP

Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel’s son Prabal Patel was arrested on Tuesday in an attempt to murder case that left four people injured in a clash in Madhya Pradesh. Six more people were arrested and the minister’s nephew and BJP MLA JS Patel’s son Monu has also been booked. Prabal is alleged to have led the attack following an altercation.

In his last WhatsApp message to his family on Monday, martyred Army Major Ketan Sharma had sent his picture and wrote, “Maybe this is my last photo.” He succumbed to injuries he sustained in a gun battle in J&K’s Anantnag hours later. He is survived by his wife, their four-year-old daughter, his parents, and a sister.

4-yr-old rape victim’s family abuse doctors, vandalise Delhi hospital

Relatives of a 4-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped and brought to a Delhi government hospital for treatment, abused and manhandled doctors and security staff and vandalised hospital property, police said. This was after the doctors referred the girl to another hospital. The incident comes days after the doctors’ strike in connection with a colleague’s assault came to an end.

Iceland Cricket mocked Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan for conceding 110 runs against England. Defending Rashid, Stuart Broad tweeted, “He’s a world class bowler & a delight to watch. BJP MP Om Birla takes charge as new Lok Sabha Speaker

Body of India’s Got Talent post producer found in a lake in Mumbai

Sohan Chauhan, a senior post producer, who has worked on shows like India’s Got Talent 7 and MasterChef India 6, has been found dead. His body was recovered from a pond in the Royal Palms society in Mumbai. According to the CCTV footage of his building, Sohan was seen stepping out on Sunday with a bottle in his hand.

A teenager who called UK’s Prince Harry a “race traitor” for marrying Meghan Markle and suggested to shoot him was jailed for over four years. Michal Szewczuk had created an image of Harry with a pistol to his head against a blood-covered background. Szewczuk along with another teenager promoted the ideology of right-wing groups influenced by neo-Nazism, the court said.

Boeing wins first order for 737 Max jet since Ethiopian crash

British Airways parent IAG has announced plans to buy 200 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, in the US planemaker’s first deal for the model since the Ethiopian Airlines crash in March. The fleet, a mixture of 737 Max 8 and Max 10 variants, is valued at $24 billion at list prices. Boeing’s been working on a software fix for the jet.

Karnataka Congress MLA R Roshan Baig was suspended on Tuesday with immediate effect on account of anti-party activities. The AICC approved the proposal sent by the KPCC to take action against Baig and suspended him on the basis of an inquiry, a Congress release said. Following Congress’ debacle in recent general polls, Baig had criticised state party leadership too.

Ex-Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh’s son booked in chit fund scam

Former Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh’s son Abhishek Singh and 19 others were booked on the charge of cheating in an alleged chit fund scam in Surguja, police said. Abhishek, ex-BJP MP Madhusudan Yadav and Congress’ Naresh Dakaliya had allegedly acted as star campaigners for the company, which shut operations in 2016. Meanwhile, Abhishek denied having any connection with the company.

UK Sinha panel on MSMEs submits report to RBI

The RBI on Tuesday said the UK Sinha-led panel, formed to look into the issues of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), has submitted its report. The eight-member panel was formed in January to comprehensively review and propose long-term solutions for revival of the sector. Its members included SBI Managing Director PK Gupta and ICICI Bank Executive Director Anup Bagchi.

SAT grants relief to Prannoy, Radhika Roy against SEBI order

The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) on Tuesday granted a three-month stay on market regulator SEBI’s order barring NDTV promoters Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy from holding managerial positions at the news network. SEBI had held that Roys didn’t disclose material information about three loan agreements to minority shareholders. The couple called the SEBI order “outrageous and bad in law”.

RBI fines HDFC Bank ₹1 crore for violation of KYC norms The RBI has imposed a ₹1-crore penalty on HDFC Bank for not complying with its KYC and anti-money laundering norms. It added that customs authorities had alerted them about certain importers submitting “forged bills of entry” to the bank for remittance of foreign currency. The action has no material impact on transactions entered into by the bank with its customers.
