Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Saturday inaugurated the Central Command Centre for Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) in Delhi. Countries including the US, Australia and Japan have a centralised air traffic flow management system. The system will help balance capacity against demand for optimum utilisation of resources like airspace and aircraft at capacity-constrained airports.

The Bombay High Court has held that fantasy sports offered by Dream 11 “is undoubtedly a game of skill and not a game of chance” and therefore doesn’t amount to gambling. FedEx rejects package with Huawei phone sent to US from UK
FedEx rejected a package containing a used Huawei phone being sent from the UK to the US. The phone was being sent to a PCMag.com phone analyst, who posted a tweet about the package being sent back to London. “The package in question was mistakenly returned to the shipper, and we apologize for this operational error,” FedEx said.

Staff leaves unconscious patient inside clinic as duty ends
The staff of a community healthcare centre allegedly locked up and left after their duty got over with an unconscious female patient still inside in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar. The 30-year-old regained consciousness a few hours later and cried for help, following which locals informed officials who rushed to the spot. A panel has been set up to investigate the incident.
MP man declared dead found alive in morgue; dies later
A 72-year-old man, who was declared dead by a doctor in a Madhya Pradesh district hospital, was found alive when his body was being taken for postmortem after spending a night in the morgue. However, he could not be revived and died 90 minutes later. The hospital has initiated an investigation against the doctor who ordered the autopsy.
Spotify claims it overpaid songwriters, asks for money back
Music streaming platform Spotify has claimed it overpaid reportedly “millions of dollars” to US songwriters and publishers as per new US Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) regulations in 2018. The platform is now asking for the overpaid money back. “Rather than [collecting] the 2018 overpayment immediately, we have offered to extend the recoupment period through the end of 2019,” Spotify said.
Indian airlines to avoid flying over some Iran-controlled airspace
Aviation regulator DGCA on Saturday said that all Indian airlines have decided to avoid “the affected part of Iranian airspace to ensure safe travel for the passengers”. The decision comes after Iran shot down a high-altitude US drone with a surface-to-air missile, raising fears of a military confrontation between the two countries. Indian carriers will re-route flights suitably, DGCA added.

A woman named Marijuana Pepsi in the US has earned a PhD in higher education leadership with a dissertation on “Black names in white classrooms”. The 46-year-old said that throughout her life she was made fun of because of her name. Her mother picked out her name and said that it would “take her around the world”, she added.
