Letters to the Editor

11 (1)Exciting & informative
I enjoyed reading the two most recent issues – May and June 2013 – of Business & Economy. I especially enjoyed the Cornell-IIPM Think Tank-B&E joint study on succession planning and building a leadership pipeline. I find that B&E’s issues with multiple articles on related subjects give additional depth to the reading. I also appreciate the international perspectives analyzing the subject matter. The Theory of Inside’O’Mania was well written and informative. The Arindam Chaudhuri and A. Sandeep article – A Sure shot ‘Plan’ to ‘Success’ – with the case studies of GE, IBM and Proctor & Gamble in the May 2013 issue was excellent. I also thoroughly enjoyed the article ‘How Smartphone Makers Turned Dumb’ written by Steven P. Warner, Editor of B&E, with an emphasis on Nokia. I had the opportunity to visit an LG Electronics cell phone manufacturing plant in South Korea a few years ago. The cell phone dropping test was part of their manufacturing and quality control measures. The speed at which the market changed is incredible. Your analysis and examples increased my understanding of the industry.

I also completely enjoyed reading the exclusive interview of Richard Branson. I have rarely seen such well taken and well presented interviews of any face as famous as Richard Branson in other magazines. I am not finished with the June issue yet. Very exciting and informative so far. Thank you again for bring to market these super issues of B&E. Arthur C. Wheaton

8 (1)Balanced approach
I read Business & Economy for the first time and I was amazed to see how an Indian magazine is working so hard to enlighten its readers. I was really amazed with the stories and sections that your team has compiled; especially B&E This Month, as it was really informative in a go. Business & Economy is a reference magazine for all and should be followed religiously. The best part of the magazine is the Scrutiny section, as it indulges you to change your angle towards many aspects of life. I also like the columns written by leading B-School professors because they provide a great intellectual dose to me for a balanced perspective. I wish you all the success for the future!

10 (1)Streamlined information
I think Business & Economy magazine has successfully streamlined all the articles with updated and relevant information into one tight package. I really like the approach of the magazine in assimilating figures. In fact, I was unaware of many facts that your magazine has highlighted in different issues. The Scrutiny section is great since the topics discussed live up to the name in a witty manner. The last issue was encouraging. I look forward to more stories covering companies from the financial services space. That would add more value to the entire package. Best wishes.

4 (1)Innovative
What I like the most about Business & Economy magazine is the writing style. It’s hard to find an analysis driven business magazine these days. That’s where B&E stands out. The innovative style of highlighting issues, which are critical in nature is impressive. The magazine has been able to deliver internationally benchmarked standards in journalism. I would especially like to mention that the cover stories are just phenomenal and remain an eye opener on a very regular basis. The focus of B&E makes it an India-centric but globally relevant publication. It’s a great experience to read your cover stories. They add immense value. The last one presenting an alternate budget came across as a very interesting concept. All the best.

Business & Economy not only provides meticulously researched articles on contemporary economic issues of India and the world, but also depicts sheer excellence and spirit in following the corporate world. I view the magazine as one of the valued and respected resources for information, opinion and news on Indian business. It has time and again retained its ‘priority’ in my mind when it comes to India-centric business magazines, especially because of its endeavour to constantly keep one informed on the growth of Indian industry. I wish that the good work from the team continues in the future as well.

Being an entrepreneur, I need to keep myself updated with latest industry trends and Business & Economy is a classic example of how to keep things simple yet effective. The standards followed at the editorial team can be clearly seen in the package as the magazine is always loaded with great content. The overview of the markets is very informative for both professionals and students. I am sure that this, in turn, must be helpful for them to excel in their diversified fields. One must flip through the magazine to keep abreast with the fast paced business world as the entire package is well researched with charts and tables. 6 (1)Unmatched
I have been reading Business & Economy for the past four years. The cover stories have always been well-researched and well-presented both in terms of content and design. Also, your magazine has always been heavy with thought-provoking and unbiased articles. In a nutshell, B&E has always delivered an enriching reading experience to its readers – one that is unmatched. Just one small concern. I am not able to find the hard copy of the magazine these days. Hope you look into the matter on an urgent basis.

I like your magazine very much, both in terms of design and content. Being a regular reader of Business & Economy for quite some time now, I can say that it has set a very high standard for itself and with every issue, it raises the bar even higher. It is definitely one of the top contenders in terms of showcasing the realities of the business world and scores high both in terms of finance and economy-related publications. B&E is one of the most refined magazines I have ever read. Every element in the stories is so relevant that the element itself could narrate the whole story. The best part is the analysis and the numbers inserted as they reveal the inside out of any corporation story. I never miss reading sections like Scrutiny and Revisiting History as they are eye openers in many aspects. I wish your magazine all the success for the future.

Karan Bhalla Gurgaon +9199908671XX Value package
As a student of management, your magazine has always overwhelmed me with loads of knowledge that is very interesting to read. Somehow, while newspapers can’t provide it, an aggregated yet concise value package is delivered in your incisive magazine. The knowledge pool of Business & Economy is actually preparing us towards becoming efficient future managers. The cover stories are a delight to read and I feel compelled to stop at them.

Inquisitive approach
Business & Economy is one of those magazines, which always surprise you with stories on offer. The writing is fresh with an inquisitive approach to business issues, and tries to present an overall and actual picture of a business case study. The interviews and columns are quite insightful as well, which raises the benchmark several notches up as compared to many other magazines. I have often found excellent coverage of the consumer electronics and appliances space in the magazine, and that’s a delight. Keep up with the great work and research.

I am comparatively a new reader of Business & Economy magazine but keep following your website every once in a while. The magazine is a full package, wherein you cover current affairs, politics, sector and personal finance for both domestic as well as international markets. The style of writing distinguishes you from the competitors. I wish the entire team all the best for their commendable work over the years.

Though I don’t read Business & Economy magazine too often, but whenever I get a chance, it is a pleasure to go through the articles that discuss important issues relating to India and global markets. I find the magazine to be very informative and to the point in its feature stories. It has the right mix of business & politics and that makes it clutter-breaking magazine in its industry.
