Apple’s upcoming iOS 13 update will reportedly not support compatibility with devices including the iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, according to a report. Further, the update will not be available for the iPad mini 2 and iPad Air. Apple is reportedly expected to announce iOS 13 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
NABARD subsidiary announces ₹700 cr fund for rural startups
Nabventures, a subsidiary of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has announced a ₹700-crore venture capital fund for investments in agriculture, food and rural-focused startups. The fund has a proposed corpus of ₹500 crore with an option to retain over-subscriptions of ₹200 crore. Till now, NABARD has contributed ₹273 crore to 16 alternate investment funds.
LIC Mutual Fund appoints Dinesh Pangtey as CEO
LIC Mutual Fund on Monday appointed Dinesh Pangtey as the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Pangtey, who joined LIC as a direct recruit officer in 1984, was Director and CEO at LIC Group’s private equity division LIC HFL AMC. He has also served as Regional Manager Marketing channel in Western Zone spanning the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa.
ED attaches over ₹2 cr assets in Axis Bank note ban fraud
The ED on Monday said it has attached assets worth over ₹2 crore over a money laundering case against former Axis Bank employees and others. The employees allegedly facilitated illegal conversion of ₹40-crore demonetised currency into gold. The ED had filed a criminal case based on an FIR filed by Delhi Police after it seized ₹3.7 crore in old notes.
HUDCO approaches NCLAT to recover dues from Vikram Bakshi
State-owned HUDCO has approached NCLAT to recover dues from Vikram Bakshi, who has agreed for an out-of-court settlement with McDonald’s ending their six-year-long dispute. HUDCO asked for its dues to be cleared first from the amount Bakshi was to receive from the US fast-food chain. The company claims it extended ₹60-crore loan to Bakshi for his hospitality company, Ascot Hotels.
Kwality lenders vote on extending deadline for bids: Reports
Lenders of cash-strapped dairy firm Kwality have reportedly decided to carry out voting on extending the May 15 deadline for submitting resolution plan by interested bidders, including Haldiram’s and Kotak group firm. The lenders would also vote on seeking extension of insolvency proceedings by 90 days, reports said. The company’s creditors have made a claim of ₹1,900 crore, reports added.

SC refuses to reschedule voting time in Lok Sabha poll due to Ramzan
The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition seeking to prepone voting time from 7 am to 5 am for the Lok Sabha election’s last phase. The petition, filed by lawyer Mohammad Nizam Pasha, sought an early start on account of heat wave and the beginning of the month of Ramzan. The Election Commission had earlier declined the lawyer’s plea.

Government is looking to make QR code payments option via UPI compulsory at all shops and the GST Council has already given the proposal a go-ahead, as per a report. 6,498 schools damaged due to Cyclone Fani in Odisha
A total of 6,498 schools have been damaged due to Cyclone Fani that ravaged 14 districts of Odisha, officials said. The School and Mass Education Department in the state has assessed a loss of ₹417.83 crore due to the cyclone. As many as 2,134 schools were damaged in Puri district, which was the worst affected in the cyclonic storm.

America’s Lockheed Martin said it won’t sell its F-21 fighter jets to any country if India orders its 114 planes. Last month, the Indian Air Force issued an initial tender to acquire 114 jets at a cost of around $18 billion.
