Govt opens Siachen, world’s highest battlefield, for tourists
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has announced that the Siachen area has been opened for tourists and tourism. “Ladakh has tremendous potential in Tourism…From Siachen Base Camp to Kumar Post, the entire area has been opened for tourism purposes,” he tweeted. The Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield in the world, is a part of Ladakh.

A 100-year-old woman cast her vote at a polling booth in Barpali, Odisha on Monday. Voting is underway for the bypoll to Bijepur Assembly constituency in Bargarh district of Odisha. Flipkart Co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, who studied at IIT Delhi, have committed investments towards the fund. Pledges of over ₹125 crore have been received from alumni.

BSNL revival plan to be in public domain within a month: CMD
The details of the government’s revival plan for loss-making BSNL will come in the public domain within a month, said the telecom operator’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) PK Purwar. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday said that Pakistan has unilaterally stopped postal mail service from India and has not been accepting letters from India for the past two months. “Pakistan’s decision is directly in contravention of international postal union norms.
