A team of researchers led by Osaka University Professor Kohji Nishida has published a study after successfully treating an eye disease patient by transplanting a layer made of artificially-cultured corneal cells derived from stem cells. The patient who underwent the transplant surgery had almost no vision because of a condition in which the cornea’s outermost layer causes corneal opacity.

South African internet and media giant Naspers is reportedly in talks to lead a $50-55 million funding round in Pune-based logistics startup ElasticRun. Reports said the deal would value the startup at $250 million. India’s tallest ATC tower starts operations at Delhi airport
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday inaugurated India’s tallest Air Traffic Control tower measuring 102 metres at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The tower and its facilities were built at a cost of ₹350 crore, Airports Authority of India (AAI) Chairman Anuj Aggarwal said. Only eight ATC towers worldwide are taller than the newly commissioned Delhi ATC tower.

HC rejects Budweiser owner’s plea to put 3-year Delhi ban on hold
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday rejected a request from AB InBev, which sells beer brands such as Budweiser, Hoegaarden and Stella Artois, to stay a three-year sales ban imposed by Delhi government. Authorities alleged that the world’s largest brewer evaded local taxes. The court told AB InBev that the appeals process before Delhi authorities must first be completed.
US, Poland agree to check 5G networks for foreign influence
The US and Poland have signed a declaration calling for a rigorous evaluation of suppliers of 5G equipment to check whether they’re subject to any foreign government’s control. Mahindra & Mahindra’s August sales fall 25% to 36,085 units
Automaker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has reported a 25% decline in its August sales at 36,085 units compared to 48,324 units in the corresponding month last year. It attributed the decline to the recent slowdown in the automotive industry. The automaker’s monthly passenger vehicles sales fell 32% year-on-year to 13,507 units, while commercial vehicle sales declined 28% to 14,684 units.
