China says it has agreed with US to cancel tariffs in phases

China and the US have agreed to cancel tariffs imposed during their trade war in phases as they work toward a deal, the Chinese commerce ministry said. “The trade war started with tariffs, and should end with the cancellation of tariffs,” it added. An interim deal is expected to include a US pledge to scrap tariffs scheduled for December 15.
