After the government advised Amarnath Yatris and tourists to leave Jammu and Kashmir amid terror attack reports, several Ladakh-bound bikers were denied entry into Srinagar, a report said. “I was not aware of any restriction like this,” one of the bikers said. Reportedly, many bikers changed their route and decided to head towards Ladakh through Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba area.
Enrolled over 9 lakh new members: Delhi BJP
The Delhi BJP has enrolled over nine lakh new members before the official membership campaign concludes on August 11, Delhi BJP General Secretary Kuljeet Chahal said. He added that the party will “easily achieve the target of making 10 lakh new members” in view of Delhi Assembly polls. The BJP’s membership campaign was launched on June 7 in Delhi.
2020 Apple MacBook to launch with 5G connectivity: Report
Apple is reportedly planning to launch MacBook models enabled with 5G cellular data connectivity in the second half of 2020. It is reportedly planning to use ceramic material for the 5G antenna board in the models, which costs six times more than metal ones. eBay sues Amazon managers over conspiracy to poach its sellers
Online retail giant eBay has sued three Amazon managers in California, accusing them of conspiring to poach high-value online merchants. Amazon managers, as part of a “racketeering scheme”, offered incentives for employees to illegally infiltrate eBay’s internal messaging system, the lawsuit said. It further alleged they trained employees on how to create fake eBay accounts and target sellers.

20 killed in shooting at Walmart store in US; gunman arrested
A gunman armed with a rifle killed 20 people at a Walmart store in Texas, US, on Saturday before being arrested. Police said the suspect, who has been identified by US media as Patrick Crusius, was a resident of the city of Allen. The shooting comes just six days after a gunman killed three people at a California food festival.

RBI imposes ₹1.5 cr fine on Oriental Bank, ₹50 lakh on PNB
The RBI imposed a penalty of ₹1.5 crore on the Oriental Bank of Commerce for failing to classify and report the Kingfisher Airlines account as fraud. The Punjab National Bank (PNB) was also fined ₹50 lakh by the central bank for delayed reporting of fraud in the account. Kingfisher Airlines had ceased operations in 2012 amid mounting debt and losses.

This comes as former RBI Governor Bimal Jalan-led committee is reportedly finalising its report on the transfer of excess RBI capital to the government. CCD’s VG Siddhartha had repaid dues pending with us: Tata Capital
Café Coffee Day’s late Founder VG Siddhartha had repaid all the loans taken from Tata Capital Financial Services (TCFS) and has no outstanding dues to the entity, TCFS has said. According to TCFS, it had a maximum exposure of ₹165 crore to Café Coffee Day (CCD) group in FY2017-18. The entire amount had been repaid by March 2019, TCFS added.
Pak PM Imran Khan sends ₹430 crore defamation notice to TV anchor
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent an over ₹430 crore defamation notice to a TV anchor, alleging false reporting about his personal life. The notice said that derogatory, false and defamatory comments were made against Khan during a program that aired in March this year. It further said that Khan’s “life and career are idolised by millions of Pakistanis”.
StockX hacked, records of 6.8 million customers stolen: Report
US-based fashion and sneaker trading platform StockX was hacked in May and more than 6.8 million records were stolen by a hacker, a TechCrunch report said. The report comes days after StockX pushed out a password reset email to its users citing “system updates”. However, a company spokesperson later said that StockX was “alerted to suspicious activity” on its website.
Lewis Hamilton wins his seventh Hungarian Grand Prix Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton won his record-extending seventh Hungarian Grand Prix in the Hungaroring on Sunday. With the win, Hamilton moves to within 10 race wins of Michael Schumacher’s all-time Formula One victory record of 91. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished second while Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was placed third. Hamilton now has 250 points in the drivers’ standings.
