Now, with the curtain about to come down on 2012, we take a dekko at some of the best picks that created a stir this year and some new ones about to make a splash.
1. DIOR Christal watch
A glimpse of Dior’s christal red watch can reignite feminine passion for exquisite time pieces. With encrusted sapphire crystal bezels and marquetry-laid strap, the Swiss watch is truly a piece of art. It comes with an anti-reflective glass, and red lacquer dial that has been fitted with luminescent hour & minute hands. It also bears hand-applied diamond-shaped hour markers. A tribute to Christian Dior, this masterpiece is an ornamental yet sophisticated time piece – a must have for the fashion-conscious ladies this season.
2. Apple iphone 5
For all those brand worshippers and tech enthusiasts, Apple’s most sought after gadget, the iPhone5, may finally hit the Indian market in early 2013. Loaded with A6 Dual core 1.2GHz processor, the iPhone5 offers a 4-inch retina display with a decent 8MP camera at the rear. The thinnest smartphone in the world (7.6 mm to be precise) comes with iOS 6, with features for social media as well as its other much vaunted Siri® features. It also offers its own mapping software, which may not be as exciting as Google maps. But it’s still an Apple.

3. MASERATI FENDI
If you are looking for a car that combines the best of both craftsmanship and tradition, then Maserati Grancabrio Fendi should be your choice. Born from the union of two iconic Italian brands – Maserati and Fendi – this new limited edition model is a perfect mixture of characteristic Fendi colours with the traditional values of Maserati. Sporting a three-layer dark grey colour developed exclusively for the car, the Maserati Fendi is fitted with a 4.8 litre V8 engine, which makes the car a complete package celebrating Italian excellence.
4. Hyosung GT250R
The Hyosung GT250R has big bike looks and is powered by a strong and powerful two-cylinder, V-twin DOHC eight-valve 249 cc engine, which generates 27.6 Bhp at 10,000rpm. It offers a super sports riding position, has a fairly muscular body, and comes equipped with double disc front brakes. Then there are upside down forks, monoshock rear suspension and fat tyres. The instrument cluster is full of modern equipment and the bodywork flaunts a modern styling that is sure to set hearts aflutter in the 250cc bike segment.
5. Sony KD X9000 TV
This year Sony unveiled another stunner – its 84” television based on 4K technology. Equipped to offer four times the resolution of a full HD TV, the new Bravia KD-X9000 serves a fabulously upscaled HD content with astonishing crystal clear images that you can enjoy even at a 60° viewing angle. The TV also boasts of a 10 unit live speaker system, which can be controlled by your mobile phone so that you can enjoy a personalized cinematic experience. The gadget is available in the market at select Sony outlets.
6. Honda CBR 250R
In keeping with your desire to vroom ahead with a redefined style statement, Honda this year raised the curtains on its CBR 250. Inspired from its widely successful CBR 1000RR Fireblade model and sporting a full-cowl body design, the aerodynamically designed sports bike has an all new 250cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine, delivering 25bHp@22.9Nm torque. With anti-break lock mechanism, PGM-fuel injection technology, pro-link suspension, it has top-of-the line features that a biking enthusiast could ask for?
7. FUJIFILM X-Pro 1
Fujifilm’s latest X-pro1 model allows you to interchange its mirror-less X-mount lenses – a unique feature of the camera. The camera promises enhanced resolution with reduced chromatic aberration to capture exceptional quality imaging. It’s a gadget for those who wish to have rangefinder type cameras but at a comparatively cheaper price. With a 16.05MP camera, and 5-axis image stabilization to prevent camera shake, X-pro1 will not let the shutterbug in you to miss out on the colourful moments of you life.
8. The vanquish
British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin this year launched its next generation model ‘The Vanquish’ in its traditional VH architecture & iconic visual language. The muscular Vanquish is a pretty impressive sporty car powered by a naturally aspirated 573PS 6.0-litre V12 engine and mated to a Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic gearbox. The Vanquish mixes beautiful design with impressive technology and packs an incredible infotainment system. The car can race from 0-100kmph in a claimed 4.1 seconds and attains a top speed of 295kmph.
