Six-time world champion MC Mary Kom and Sarita Devi won gold medals at the second India Open boxing tournament, which concluded on Friday. India won medals in 52 kg, 81 kg, 91 kg and +91 kg men’s categories and 51 kg, 57 kg and 75 kg in women’s to conclude the campaign with 12 of the 18 gold medals available.

Over 40 pension, PF trusts have exposure of ₹3,300cr to DHFL

At least 40 pension and provident fund trusts, mainly from the public sector, have combined exposure of around ₹3,300 crore to DHFL, which recently faced a series of credit rating downgrades. The housing finance company temporarily halted fresh deposits and pre-mature withdrawals of existing deposits following the downgrades. DHFL needs to “reorganise its liability management”, it said.

As many as nine former Congress Chief Ministers lost in 17th Lok Sabha elections, results of which were declared on Thursday. Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit lost the North Delhi seat, while ex-Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda lost the Sonipat constituency. Out of the 25 candidates who contested from the seat, Ramesh came 21st, with BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav clinching the seat by winning 5,09,557 votes. Ramesh was contesting as an independent candidate.

4 Indians among 7 dead on Everest in a week amid overcrowding

SpiceJet MD Ajay Singh on Friday said that India’s third-largest airline added a plane each in the last 21 days and will induct its 100th aircraft in a week. “Nowhere in the world has an airline expanded at this pace, increased capacity and added new stations and flights as SpiceJet has done in the last one month,” Singh added.
