Indeed, Journey Is The Reward!

Not very often in life one comes across a person with such elegant behaviour & simplicity in thoughts. Our conviction turned into reality as we got the opportunity to explore the life journey of Ms. I.V Rajashree. Her aura enriched the environment positively and we were awe struck by her expressive eyes, intelligent thoughts & overall persona. Her initial years were spent in Ranchi. She graduated from Hyderabad and with an objective to upgrade her knowledge she enrolled for the Management course at IIPM in 1989 . Ms. Rajashree reminisces when asked about her college days and nostalgically admits, “My notes have always been famous since school and were favourite in college too “. This is a habit she has inculcated and even now she is very specific about noting down discussions and key learning’s as she thinks that human memory can fail any day.

Ms I.V Rajashree initiated her career path with a company called Admar as a Market Research Professional. After a short association with the company, she decided to settle down and soon aft er got married to Mr. Vijay Kumar. Mr. Kumar worked as the Chief Technology Officer with Wipro for 3 years and has now moved to lead Emerging Markets. He has unstinted supported her. She shares with utmost pride that she has been empowered by the family and endowed with lot of flexibility.

She took a sabbatical to settle down in her new married life. Shortly after two years , Ms Rajashree set her foot again in the corporate world with a lot of vigour. She joined Feedback Consulting in 1994 as an Associate, and has successfully carved a niche for her in this organisation & risen up to the vice president position. The Company’s Services range from Market Research to Business Advisory.

It mainly caters to client requirements on primary & secondary information, insights, strategic inputs & ideas and ultimately the final execution. During this fifteen year journey she got a lot of opportunities to prove her capability . When probed about her areas of interest if invited for a guest lecture at the Management Institute, she assertively says; “Strategic thinking, time management, and project management are topics close to my heart “.The achievement indeed has been the journey, of being able to learn from each of the milestones . She greatly admires Steve Jobs and her thoughts are well written & reciprocated in his book “The journey is the reward”. She is inspired by her Bosses, Mr. V. Ravi Chandar (M.D) and Mrs. Saroj Sridhar (Vice Chairman) for their leadership styles & people driven skills. In this fiercely competitive world it’s difficult to make a mark for oneself. She likes to differentiate herself from her contemporaries by the enthusiasm she displays for her work and various projects undertaken. The energy has not faded but increased even more by each new day. Her quick words of advice for Current Management professionals are “Stay in the job, only if you are learning, and not for mere monetary gains.” She feels upset when the young managers are unable to deliver as per expectations, due to lack of willingness to learn & new work culture. Strong foundation is vital for building a successful future in any chosen field.

She prefers to maintain a perfect work life balance and thinks some compromises & adjustments are beneficial for better career prospects. She also likes to stay well connected to her business associates and friends albeit not through the social networking websites but the old favourites mail and phone. Amongst the well cherished memories of her college days , she still remembers the roadside “Chai” outside the Lodhi Campus. She is a doting mother of a beautiful young girl- Ananya, who studies in grade five at NPS Bangalore. So a lot of her time is happily spent in her studies & upbringing. She believes in working hard consistently and to contribute 150% to work. We are confident that with her positive approach towards life she will only reach higher in her future endeavours.
