According to the trends by Election Commission of India in the counting of votes in 17th Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) crossed the majority mark of 272 on its own. Meanwhile, the trends show Congress leading in 51 seats. In the 2014 elections, BJP had won 282 seats, while Congress clinched 44 seats.

6 men burn genitals of 2 brothers, circulate video online

Two men were admitted to a hospital in Rajasthan after six people dragged them into their car and burnt their genitals with matchsticks before robbing them off of their cash. The accused fled after robbing the cousin brothers of ₹3,800, the police said. The police added that the six men circulated a video of their act on social media.

The ruling gives Peter Zhu’s parents the ability to attempt conception with a surrogate mother using their late son’s sperm. Zhu’s parents have not decided whether they will use it.

82 companies of Central forces guarding 379 counting halls in WB

BJD got highest donations among regional parties in 2017-18: ADR

Donations to Odisha’s BJD were the highest among regional political parties in 2017-18, as per a report issued by Association for Democratic Reforms. The report states that regional parties received ₹54.81 crore from 2,824 donations, with BJD getting ₹13.04 crore, followed by JD(U) that has declared receiving ₹11.19 crore. YSRCP stated that it received ₹8.35 crore.
