furnish_your_ho167 49-5What inspired you to come out of the shackles of home and establish yourself as an entrepreneur?

Well, I am a woman, a wife, a mother, and I have a passion for decorating my home. I have been fulfilling my responsibilities pretty well. But at a certain point, I realised it’s high time I should do something for myself. As my interest lies in interior designing, Casa Shamuzzi became a natural choice. I couldn’t have missed it! Besides, I belong to a business family; hence business is in the blood.

What is Casa Shamuzzi to you? How would you describe it?

Like I said, I have a passion for designing and making homes look beautiful. Casa Shamuzzi has emerged as a platform through which I can show my affinity for interior designing. It’s a dream come true for me! Casa Shamuzzi is a refining change in the luxury decor market with its exceptional designs, premium quality and value extraordinaire. We strive to become an oasis in the world of furniture design with our distinctive acumen and commitment to quality.

How did Casa Shamuzzi start in India? Are there any projects in process?

Well, Casa Shamuzzi is present in more than 14 countries across the globe, including China, Russia, Canada, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, to name a few, so we thought why not India. It is a country of colour and vibrancy, and the market potential here is huge. Being aware of the aptitude of the Indian market, NCPL is a well-established company with a very strong retail base. And establishing yourself in a new market space is not an easy grind. So, Casa Shamuzzi has tied-up with us to fledge its wings swiftly. We act as the marketing arm for the company in India. Casa Shamuzzi is just a month-old in India. We are in talks with a number of companies regarding certain projects. But every business has a gestation period.

Kindly throw some light on the range of home accessory options with Casa Shamuzzi.

Striving to transform living environments, Casa Shamuzzi has a myriad range of unique and classy products symbolising fine craftsmanship and design excellence. Right from carpets to furnishings to lights, Casa Shamuzzi provides coordinated and complimented living spaces to its customers. Casa Shamuzzi comes up with different design collections every year. For 2013, it has Grigio Perla, Zebrano, and Monogramma. Under these collections, you can find accessories for your living room, dining area, bedroom, office space, and much more. Newspaper rack, arm chair, shoe cabinet, floor mirror, dressing table, wardrobe, and what not – you name it, the company has it!

50-5Would there be any customisation in terms of the portfolio?

Casa Shammuzi’s collections are awe-inspired and there are no chances of drifting from them. But, customisation to an extent will happen, according to the needs of the customers.

Who is your target audience in India? How do you plan to reach them?

Well, economy is what we offer. Having said that, I intend to emphasise on the fact that Casa Shamuzzi offers affordable luxury. Providing classy products at half the prices, we cater to the aspirations of upper middle class onwards. The masses, today, are well-exposed to direct media. So, we will be reaching them through various advertisements in print and electronic media. Other platforms such as exhibitions will also follow.

What is so unique about your brand’s designer Roberto Serio? Would his magic work in India as well?

Roberto Serio is unique in himself. He has an exceptional sense of design and an extraordinary career spanning more than 20 years. I am sure his magic will work in India. The class and grandeur he gives to each and every design of Casa Shamuzzi is unmatchable.

From here on, your Indian and international success has much room to grow. How do you see the future?

Future looks furnished. India is one market that is not too badly hit by recession. More houses are built with each passing day and more people are buying them. There is a lot of potential in the Indian luxury home decor market. So, we are all set to glorify our role in this flourishing market.
