The Censor Board has replaced a visual of actress Rakul Preet holding an alcohol bottle with that of her holding a flower bouquet in the upcoming film ‘De De Pyaar De’. It has also deleted two dialogues from the film. The Ajay Devgn starrer, which has been given a U/A certificate, is scheduled to release on May 17.

Assam’s 21-year-old Saurav Chordia designed two special patches, ‘Falcon Slayer’ and ‘AMRAAM Dodger’, for IAF’s MiG-21 Bison and Sukhoi Su-30MKI squadrons for shooting Pakistan’s F-16 jet and evading AMRAAM missiles. An aviation enthusiast who’s now a Delhi-based Political Science graduate, he began designing patches at 18. He also made patches for Tejas squadron, Suryakiran Aerobatic Team and others.

Mumbai Police have been unable to get a statement supporting Tanushree Dutta’s allegations of sexual harassment against Nana Patekar, as per reports. They have reportedly recorded 12 to 15 statements of witnesses who were present on the sets of the 2009 film ‘Horn ‘Ok’ Pleassss’. Reacting to these reports, Tanushree said, “They’re Nana’s friends, why will they corroborate my story?”

India’s Chandrayaan-2 to carry NASA payload too in July: ISRO
India’s second Moon mission, Chandrayaan-2, that’s planned for a July launch will have 13 payloads and one passive experiment from American space agency NASA, ISRO said on Wednesday. The spacecraft with a 3.8-tonne mass has three modules- orbiter, lander, and rover. Eight of the 13 Indian payloads will be on orbiter, three will be on lander and two on rover.
Army jawan martyred, 3 terrorists killed in Pulwama encounter
An Army jawan was martyred and two others were injured in an encounter in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday morning. Three terrorists were gunned down by security forces in the encounter. Security forces had launched an operation following a tip-off about militants holed up in a house in the Dalipora area.
3 BTech students arrested with 10 kg ganja in Andhra Pradesh
The Andhra Pradesh police on Wednesday arrested three BTech students for allegedly transporting ganja in a car from Araku Valley to Visakhapatnam. The police also seized 10 kg of ganja, three cell phones and a new Ford car. The police said, “They are addicted to luxuries and started ganja smuggling to make more money easily.”
Trump declares national emergency over threats against US telecom
US President Donald Trump has declared a national emergency to protect the country against foreign adversaries that are taking advantage of technological vulnerabilities to threaten US communications systems. The order bars US companies from using foreign telecoms believed to pose national security risks. This comes amid US’ campaign against Chinese manufacturer Huawei over espionage concerns.
Taco Bell names Dabur’s Burmans as national franchise partner
Yum Brands-owned Mexican style fast-food chain Taco Bell announced Dabur owner Burman family’s Burman Hospitality as its master franchise partner in India, with plans to open 600 outlets by 2029. Taco Bell currently has 35 outlets in India, with some operated by Burman Hospitality. Taco Bell entered India in 2010 and signed up with Burman Hospitality in 2015.
Flipkart in talks with Nokia, Motorola to make TVs: Report
Flipkart is in talks with international original equipment manufacturers to make electronics for sale on its platform, as per reports. It’s reportedly in advanced-stage talks with Nokia and Motorola, which plan to introduce TV models in India by next year. Flipkart also aims to collaborate with Sansui to launch smaller home appliances such as juicers, grinders and other kitchen appliances.
iPhone price may rise 3% over US-China trade war: Report
Tariffs on the iPhone’s China-made batteries and other components would increase its manufacturing cost by 2% to 3%, a report said, adding Apple would need to increase iPhone prices by a similar amount to make the same profit. The US raised tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese products and China retaliated with tariffs on $60 billion of US goods.
WeWork owner launches $2.9B real estate acquisition platform
US-based co-working space startup WeWork’s parent The We Company has launched ARK, its global real estate acquisition and management platform. ARK will initially deploy $2.9 billion in total equity capital, with reportedly $1 billion from Ivanhoé Cambridge, a unit of Canada-based investor, CDPQ. Founded in 2010, The We Company also operates WeLive and WeGrow.

US-based interview platform Karat has raised $28 million in a Series B funding round led by Tiger Global Management. Existing investors Norwest Venture Partners and 8VC also participated in the round. Founded in 2014 by Mohit Bhende and Jeffrey Spector, Karat offers help to firms by conducting human-powered technical rounds of engineering job interviews online for them.
Fossils of new ‘most bird-like’ dinosaur found after 150 yrs
Germany-based researchers have unearthed fossils of a new “most bird-like” flying dinosaur species ‘Alcmonavis poeschli’. Crow-sized feathered dinosaur Archaeopteryx, discovered in 1861, was widely considered to be the oldest bird-like one for over 150 years. However, a flapping trait likely existing in the new species is present in more recent birds, but not Archaeopteryx, researchers said.
RBI aims to boost digital transactions to 15% of GDP by 2021
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has said it aims to boost digital transactions to about 15% of GDP over next two years from nearly 10% now. The central bank added it aims to achieve a “highly digital” and “cash-lite” economy model. Notably, cash as a percentage of GDP is at 11.4% compared to 11.8% before note ban in 2016.
Kochhar’s brother-in-law seeks cancellation of lookout circular
Former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar’s brother-in-law Rajiv Kochhar has moved a Delhi court seeking cancellation of lookout circular against him. Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar, and Rajiv have been named in an alleged bank loan fraud and money laundering case. Rajiv, the Founder of Singapore-based Avista Advisory, has been questioned by the ED and CBI in the case.
Qatar Airways asks India to allow additional flights to Doha Qatar Airways said it has asked Indian aviation authorities to allow additional flights on routes connecting Indian cities with Doha on a temporary basis. This comes amid a reduction in flights following temporary suspension of Jet Airways’ operations. Without additional flights, Indian flyers would be forced to choose expensive last-minute tickets or complicated re-routings, Qatar Airways said.
