Letters to the Editor

An effective summary
At the outset, our sincere thanks to Business & Economy magazine for including 3M as part of its analysis on the topic of “Reverse Innovation.” The cover story had a very effectively summarised importance of innovation in developing economies such as India and the critical role it plays in enabling and driving change in the global market which really leads to reverse innovation. The author has also very neatly categorised reverse innovation into three major areas of relevance to the local and global markets. One area where I would like to see a deeper analysis is the role played by ‘home-grown’ companies in reverse innovation. Perhaps this could be a topic of a separate article by itself as there is a lot going on in this area.

8 (5)Setting a high standard
Business & Economy magazine is a nice read. Being a professor, I have an inclination toward high quality research & analysis and I must accept that your team is setting a high standard for others to follow. I prefer going through my journals online and your magazine has always been able to cultivate my interest as it is refined. In fact, going through your website I have seen some very interesting cover stories on “Mergers & Acquisitions” and “Worst CEOs”. Without doubt, your edit team has a better outlook than most other journals. I must say your team is doing a great job and hope it continues to do same going forward.

10 (5)Intellectual content
I have been going through the magazine since the time I contributed a column for one of your cover stories. I like your power of innovation and it is depicted clearly in your stories. I hardly had a chance in the past to go through an Indian magazine. But I was amazed to see the appealing nature of your magazine. I found Business & Economy to be an intellectual publication. You nicely follow global standards of writing and the intellectual content in the magazine makes it an engrossing read. The approach being adopted by your magazine is praiseworthy as it covers all the genres of the corporate world. Hope you people continue with such great work.

11 (4)Deserves appreciation
The ever evolving nature of the magazine is what keeps me glued to it. Every section in the magazine has been intelligently planned and is a perfect mix of informative knowledge and analysis. The varied content clearly highlights the obsession of a dedicated team for news and intellect. In the last issue of B&E, I found the cover story on worst CEOs very interesting as it amazingly analysed the issue. It was surprising to know that despite so much of their hard work, the things were not on track for them in the corporate world. The issue also highlighted the hard work done by the team over the entire year. Best of luck for the future issues of 2013.

2 (2)Commendable
The cover story on reverse innovation in 2012 October issue of Business & Economy is simply excellent. The story unfolds the essence of reverse innovation in the best way possible. The expertise of the authors is commendable and the quality of production is superb. The articles in you magazine definitely empower the readers with the latest industry trends with a great analytical approach. International columns by celebrated personalities across the world are also highly informative and educative. The B-School Survey carried by the magazine every year is a highly praiseworthy initiative. Not only it helps myriad students, but also educates business leaders about the initiatives taken by B-schools across the country. I truly look forward to continue reading this magazine with more captivating and brilliant stories.

7 (5)A holistic view
I convey my hearty thanks to the entire team of B&E to bring out such a holistic view of the business world. Although the magazine is always loaded with international and national happenings, I would like to more international stories in your magazine with a focus on political news as well. Sections like ‘B&E This Month’ keep me updated with the corporate world. Such a combination of news is really hard to find in any other business magazine.

Complete package
Being an entrepreneur I need to keep a watch on market trends and competition. For this I read three-four magazines on a weekly basis, but what Business & Economy delivers no other magazine does. Overall, the magazine is more than just journalism. I would relate it to an introduction to the corporate world. Different interview and columns make it a complete package for entrepreneurs like me. I would really appreciate if you could also add some columns on new enterprise and SMEs that make for a crisp and quick read.

3 (5)Profound content
It is the profound content of a magazine that makes it stand out in the clutter and Business & Economy has been effectively doing that for long now. Through its well thought out sections, it is easily able to cover everything, right from highlighting crisp data in B&E Fortnight to detailed stories in the Stratagem section. I particularly like the “Revisiting History” section as it revives old memories and relinks me to history. This, added to the all-round critical analysis, makes your magazine very special. It is such intelligent work that keeps me glued to your magazine.

9 (5)Excellent package
I believe in the fact that there is no end to learning. One should consistently strive for more knowledge as it keeps a person updated. What I like most about Business & Economy is that it deals with varied issues, from policy to business to market, and generates a number of out-of-the-box ideas in almost all fields. It’s an excellent package of news and affairs compiled with a comparative study grasping the real requirement of readers. Further, the charts and graphs provided by you are helpful in understanding the crux of the write ups. Truly, it’s a complete reading experience and must go on for times to come.

FMCG & Education, please!
The issues raised by Business & Economy are analytical and contemporary. However, there has been a miss out on many sectors like FMCG and Education. They are one of the fastest growing sectors not just in India but across the globe and an analysis from your end would be worth a read. Case studies, features, and creative ideas always fascinate me – and my quest finds a sigh of relief in Business & Economy. I was not a regular reader of your magazine, but since I have gone through it once, I follow it quite frequently. I would recommend the cover stories on ‘Merger & Acquisitions’ in December 2012 issue and ‘B-School Survey’ in November 2012 issue of the magazine to all, as they were a class apart with immensely educative, creative and informative content. Hope you people continue with such great work.

Influential
It is always a sheer delight to read Business & Economy – a magazine with such a rich content. This is one of the few business magazines where team effort and hard labour comes in a perfect blend. As a regular reader of Business & Economy, I still remember it’s the November 2012 issue which carried one of the most influential B-School Survey I have gone through. Another unique thing about the magazine is the interviews of the most influential people in the industry and top honchos of the business arena. I look forward to many more such issues in the future.

A great deal of hard work
The Best of Business & Economy in the January 2013 issue takes you back to the most happening events across business arena in the year gone by. A great deal of hard work goes into bringing every issue of the magazine. It’s the best read for researchers and students, as most of the articles carry analytical and academic approach. ‘20 years of change after Rajiv Gandhi’, ‘Bid adieu to these 10 WMDs!’ and ‘The worst CEOs of 2012’ – I especially admire these stories published in the January issue. I wish that B&E touches new heights of success and quality with every issue. All the best!
